Game Preview: Southern Utah vs Northern Colorado

Tomorrow, Southern Utah University Men's Basketball will go up against the University of Northern Colorado to fight for a position in the Big Sky Semi-finals.

My prediction, right of the bat, is that the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, (currently sitting at the #1 seed in the Big Sky tournament) will blow away Northern Colorado Bears with SUU coming in at 100+ points while the bears will be busting their humps to just get 20 points within the Thunderbirds' final score.

IT is an undoubted fact that SUU has a more talented and rounded team than Northern CO, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to play halfheartedly this game. It will take a lot of effort to keep Northern CO away from the rebounds in their half of the court, something that Northern CO was exceptional at in their game vs Sacramento State earlier today.

On thing that is sure to push SUU ahead quickly is how... well... quickly they play their game. SUU is a very fast-paced team, they put on the pressure early and hard and don't let up on the speed all game long. IT is one of their strong suits and something that is sure to propel them well past the Bears tomorrow morning.

SUU has had an extremely talented team this year. I stand by Southern Utah being able to get to the Semi Finals but I still question their ability to get past teams like Weber State or Eastern Washington. It will take them some work to pull through and win the trophy. The Thunderbirds have been able to take away a win from each of these two teams this year, but they have also conceded a loss to each. It really stands up in the air at this point, though I hope SUU will pull through.
